In Windows certain Metro tiles can show you live and updated information. You know how to turn that feature on and off ?

Microsoft_Windows-8

The Metro Start screen live tiles displays the latest info from your e-mail, calendar, contacts, and other apps. You need that feature..?

At first, set up the app for which you want to see a live tile.

Mail, People, Calendar, Photos, Weather, News, and Sports are some of the apps in the new Windows 8 Release Preview that can tap into this new feature.

The live tile feature will turn on by the  opening of  certain apps. For example, Automatically enabled Live tiles is evident when you open the News and Weather apps and when you  return to the Metro Start screen., The latest updates and photos displayed in those two tiles is the great evidence of the job.

Other apps too require some setup. At least one e-mail account is must to display a live tile for your e-mail. Displaying the live tile for People requires you to add your accounts for Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, or other social networks. You’ll need to specify your location or allow Windows to find it in the Weather app live tile facility.

Open the app to set up accounts for Mail or People. Holding the Windows key on your keyboard and pressing C  will  launch the Charms bar . Go to the Settings charm and select an option that says accounts. It is possible to add various account of your’s.

Done.

Information overload  often happen while  working in the Metro Start screen

Some times it may turn as a disturbance to us. We don’t even prefer to know the temperature or see the latest posts or pictures from  Facebook friends. Then simply right-click the tile and select the option to “turn live tile off” from the Apps bar below.

If we use it correctly Live tiles may turn as  a handy and helpful feature.
