Being a parent of a gamer is a very difficult task. You are always on the edge, you don’t know what to do. You have to be careful that your son or daughter is not spending too much time playing their favorite game. You also have to keep an eye out for your child’s health , grades, and other activities. Video games are great; they provide hours of entertainment and kill time in the day or week. But, if we become addicted to video games then it can cause several problems at home and in school.
Tobias Wolff’s book, This Boy’s Life , connects with this blog because it addresses how video games affected his life negatively. Tobias’ mother allowed him to play video games all day long, which caused him to get into fights with his family members including his mom . In the story, Tobias’ brother tried to control him by taking away his game console, but he didn’t listen, so he ended up getting beat up by his brother. His brother tried everything possible to take away his addiction of playing video games but nothing worked.
I think that this blog is very important because it gives us information about how video games can affect our lives negatively and how we should cope with them in order
Video games are a hobby, right? You buy the system, you play it with your friends or family, and then you put it down until the next time. That’s what video games are, right?
Not for everyone. For some people, video games become an addiction and a lifestyle. You hear about people dropping out of school, abandoning their families, and losing all sense of reason just to get that high score on this game. Not only is it destroying their lives, but they’ve lost complete touch with reality.
What can be done to prevent this from happening? How could we stop our kids from becoming addicted to playing video games? And what should we do if someone we know is addicted to gaming?
Video games are a part of our culture. They provide entertainment, and they can also be used to help improve your skills both in video games and in real life. But there is a darker side to video games that isn’t talked about. It’s the addictive aspect of them. Video games can become an addiction, and it’s important to know the signs that you are addicted to video games so you can get help for yourself or loved ones if need be.
Treatment for Video Game Addiction:
The first step to getting better from a video game addiction is admitting you have a problem. This might seem like an easy thing to do, but for many people it isn’t. It’s not uncommon that someone who knows they are addicted to video games will not admit they have a problem even when confronted with the fact that they play all day, every day. They may even lie about how much time they spend playing video games because admitting how bad it has gotten makes them feel ashamed and embarrassed.

I’ve been playing video games since I was 6 years old, and I can honestly say that it has become an addiction. I used to play Call of Duty, but now I play World of Warcraft (WoW). My parents have tried to get me to stop. They don’t want me to play because they fear that the game could affect my future negatively by taking away time from my studies or causing me to miss out on other activities.
Trouble is, I love the game so much that it has begun to take over my life. I spend hours a day in front of the computer screen. When I’m supposed to be doing my homework or watching TV, all I can think about is getting back to WoW. And when I’m actually playing, the time just flies by.
I forgot about a lot of things that happened this past year because of WoW, and now it’s starting to affect my friendships and family relationships. My grades dropped dramatically because I spend so much time on WoW instead of studying for school. And sometimes, when we are doing something as a family or friends and they stop whatever they’re doing so we can do something else, I get mad at them and rant on how life isn’t fair because they’re forcing me
Video games are a pastime enjoyed by millions of people, but they can also be a problem that negatively impacts someone’s life. Video game addiction is a real mental and emotional condition often linked with depression and other eating disorders.
Treatment for game addiction varies and can include in-patient treatment at a facility, group therapy sessions, psychotherapy, 12-step programs, individual counseling sessions and support groups. The type of treatment depends on the severity of the addiction. For example, those who play video games for many hours each day will most likely require inpatient care to help them break the cycle of addiction.
It is important to seek help from an accredited facility dedicated to treating video game addiction. The first step towards recovery is recognizing there is a problem that requires professional help.**
Hey, I’m Brett. I’m a former gamer and have been playing games since I was 5 years old. My whole life revolved around video games until they took over my life and I lost my job, girlfriend, and friends in the process. Now I’m trying to help other gamers realize that video games are not worth giving up real life for. I want gamers to get their priorities straight and understand what is important in their lives. Video games can be fun but they should not control your life. This blog is all about how you can quit gaming cold turkey and how to get your real life back!
Vivo is a great company, and I’m sure they have the best intentions when it comes to their products. I don’t think they had any idea that some buyers would become so reliant on their gadgets that they couldn’t live without them.
But they should have seen it coming. After all, we’re talking about drones here. Drones are addictive by definition. You can’t stop watching them, even when you want to. And drones are becoming cheaper and more capable every day. Now imagine what might happen if Vivo were to add an app that lets you buy stuff with your drone.
Terrific idea, right? But if Vivo puts that functionality in their app, will they be able to control it? Will they be able to keep people from buying things they don’t need just because they can? There’s no way of knowing until it happens — but if it does, the consequences could be ugly. And the only way of avoiding those consequences is for Vivo not to put that functionality in their app in the first place.
