The design technology is a method that uses the digital product design platform to create a new product. The new product is not just a new version of an existing product, but a whole new kind of product. The design technology can be applied to different kinds of new products.
Design technology is the creative process that allows designers to produce new products. Design technology can be broken down into eight disciplines: strategy, ideation, principles, structure, prototype, material and process, form language, and branding. Design technology is used in conjunction with the creative process of designers to develop a new product or service.
Design technology is a new way of designing a product and bringing it to market. The design philosophy is based on the fact that products have three needs:
1.to be easy to use,
2.to look great, and
3.to be affordable.
The first one is essential because a product exists to serve the customer, but if it does not fulfill the customers needs, it will not succeed in the market place. The second one is important as well for aesthetic reasons, because most people don’t buy things just because they are functional or useful, but also because they want something that looks nice and has style, that makes them feel good and proud to own it. The third one is important because price plays an important role in the purchasing decision of almost any consumer products.
The design technology method centers around three phases:
1)design by imagination (in which you create a concept of your idea and imagine how it could be if everything goes right),
2)design by constraints (in which you list all necessary features and functions of your product based on the information gathered from customers during phase one; you also list all possible materials and manufacturing methods), and
3)design by generation (in which you select which materials are available for your product and
The process of designing a new product, from an idea to preproduction, is now less than a year.

The main goal of the design process is to create a product that will be successful in the marketplace, i.e., satisfy customer needs and wants; achieve competitive advantage; provide good economics; and make a profit for the company.
Design Technology provides designers with a repeatable process that allows them to consistently produce high-quality designs using data-driven techniques such as computational models and analysis. Design Technology integrates computational methods into traditional design methods to enhance product performance, reduce manufacturing costs and improve profit margins.
Design Technology combines three essential components:
1) A clear definition of customer needs (functional performance requirements)
2) An understanding of the production constraints for manufacturing a product
3) An analytical or physical model of the design concept that predicts performance prior to physical prototyp
Design technology is technology that are designed to improve the quality of life. It is usually used to make things like communication interface, entertainment and devices. Design Technology is not easy to design because it has a huge requirement of users’ taste and study of the market. Design technology can be designed in order to improve human life.
The high-definition television (HDTV) refers to several different digital television standards (with resolutions up to 1920×1080 pixels) that provide better picture quality than the commonly used Standard-Definition TV (SDTV) or analog television. Although HDTV sets can display SDTV signals, they are not compatible with analog television sets (which use the NTSC or PAL broadcast system). The two main HDTV standard are:
1. 720p (1280×720 pixels): This format was developed by NHK Science & Technical Research Laboratories and is supported by some Japanese manufacturers, such as Sony and Sharp for over-the-air broadcasts and DirecTV for satellite broadcasts. The frame rate is 60 Hz and support 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio only.

Brainstorming is a favorite tool for innovation. Brainstorming sessions are often structured in a specific way to maximize creativity and generate new ideas. One common strategy used by brainstorming sessions is to encourage participants to think “outside the box.”
The phrase means that participants should not direct their thoughts toward solving a problem within limitations or restrictions, but should generate ideas without considering what they could not do. The phrase was first coined in the 1960s by advertising executive Alex Osborn, who outlined how groups could be creative.
Telling people to try to think outside the box is one thing; actually doing it is quite another. Recently, I have been working with several colleagues on a project aimed at getting people outside of their comfort zone and generating new ideas. We have found that one of the most effective ways to accomplish this is by using the “design technology” process.
This technology consists of three stages: pre-project, project and post-project. Although it may sound complicated, it’s actually something you can do yourself.
