This leads to the use of it even if you do not wish to. For example, imagine that you have taken a pic using a filter and then you exit and then later even if you take a random pic, the filter is applied. But do no worry, even if you have taken a pic with a filter which you did not want to be applied, you can still change it. Surprised? Here is the way:

The first step is to launch the Photos app and then once you have done this, you will have to select the image that you want to edit. Then select Edit. Now once you have selected the Edit option,you will be able to see a number of editing tools and one of them is Filter tool. Now in the option you can either apply a different filter or if you want, you can remove the applied filter. Now another word of advice: you need not worry if you are not able to see the option in the first view.

This is because the said option will be seen by you only after you have scrolled to the very beginning of the box and so this has to be kept in mind. Now it goes without saying that you will have to ensure that you do not have any filters in the background so that you do not apply the filter if you do not actually want to. So a bit of caution can save you a lot of time and energy in the long run.
